Sharing information about your shipments

Sharing information about your shipments is necessary not just for managing your supply chain, but for managing your supply chain more efficiently. Here are three reasons why sharing information can help make your supply chain more efficient.
1. Avoid fees and delays
The top reason for sharing container information is the value you get from organized, clear, and up-to-date information. One of our customers was able to reduce their average dwell times (the number of days a container is in a terminal) from four days to less than two days, and reduce their demurrage fees by nearly $40,000 in one quarter due to the efficiencies they gained from sharing better data with their supply chain partners.
2. Communicate and collaborate
Coordinating your cargo's journey takes more than one person. From cargo owners, to brokers, to freight forwarders, and even suppliers, everyone has a responsibility for some portion of your cargo's transit. When you have multiple parties tracking the same cargo using different sources and emailing spreadsheets back and forth, you increase the chance of someone taking action on old, outdated, or inaccurate data. Sharing container information from one centralized system keeps everyone on the same page, improves efficiency, and saves time.
3. Accurate and efficient
Unfortunately, even for the most organized logistics managers, things sometimes go wrong and when they do, you'll need to quickly and efficiently communicate with all parties involved. Even better, though, is preventing potential issues from becoming real problems in the first place. We aggregate and normalize data from multiple sources to ensure that we have the most accurate data about your shipments, updated in real time. By sharing data on your containers, you can ensure everyone involved can take the appropriate action in advance and avoid any problems down the road.
Sharing data from your dashboard
Crux Systems makes it easy to share container information directly from your dashboard. Simply select the containers you'd like to share and hit the share icon in the action control panel at the bottom of your container list. In the pop up box, add the recipient's email address and a note. Hit send, and you're on your way to efficient cargo management.
