It’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, and we wanted to say thanks to all the drivers who cover thousands of miles to bring us the items we use every day.
A quick look at the impact of truck drivers on the economy:
- drivers covered more than 421 billion miles in 2014
- they moved 68% of all domestic freight
- long-haul drivers average more than 100,000 miles of driving each year
There are 3.4 million truck drivers in the US. And they’re technology savvy - 57% of drivers are using work-related apps, ranging from electronic logbooks to online freight marketplaces.
However, a driver’s job involves a lot more than just driving. In a driver’s typical day, they’ll spend nearly as much time handling other tasks like inspections, paperwork, and waiting for containers as they actually do driving.
That’s why we’re working to make a driver’s job easier. Learn more about how our trucking services app provides drivers and trucking companies with better visibility into their delivery order status, container availability, routes and processing.
