Tracking the details that matter with tags
When managing your supply chain, you need to track more than just your container's location and status. Maybe you track SKU numbers, or purchase order numbers, or bills of lading, or customer IDs. Every business uses different information for managing their supply chain, which is why we've made it easy to include in your dashboard the data that matters most for your business - what ever that may be.
The easiest way to add the additional data to your container records is by using tags. When you first upload your data as a CSV file, you can choose to include the information in your spreadsheet as tags on the container records. Tags can also be added to containers that you're already tracking in your dashboard. Learn more about how to add tags to your containers.
For cargo owners
As a cargo owner, you may want to include SKU numbers as tags on your containers, so you can know exactly when a particular part will be arriving for a customer order. Everyone from the receiving department to billing to sales can be on the same page with access to the same real-time information.
For trucking companies
As a trucking company, you may want to tag all of your containers for each of your customers. You can then see which containers for a particular customer are due to arrive at the terminal this week so that you can plan ahead. That also makes it easy to email the status of the containers to your customers, and keep them informed about what's happening with their cargo.
Tags are fully searchable, so you can easily find all of the containers that have been tagged for a particular warehouse, for example. You can see all of the tags you're using in the tab on the left navigation menu, and even sort and filter your tags.
Tags are available as a feature on some of our premium plans. Learn more about our plans and pricing.
